(1) Advantages of giant rice

After hybridization, improvement and screening, the research team has successfully cultivated a new generation of "giant rice" after more than ten generations of research and combined with the advantages of plant shape.

High yield and high quality, up to 1200-1600 kg per mu in a single season, and the rice quality and taste are good;

The tillering ability is strong, and the whole stalk of giant rice can be used as silage and organic fertilizer to increase soil organic matter after maturity;

For rice stalk papermaking and building materials, the cellulose content of giant rice stalk is 20%-30% higher than that of ordinary stalk.

Huge biomass, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, absorb ammonia nitrogen and nitrite in water, and have huge ecological benefits;

It is suitable for creating leisure and sightseeing ecological agriculture.

(2) Rice, fish, shrimp, crab and duck green planting

The yield of "giant rice" is similar to that of some high-yielding hybrid rice, and its core advantage is that it is "high enough" to achieve "rice-fishery co-culture". "Fish can also be raised in the paddy fields of ordinary rice, but because the plants are short, they can only store 30-40 centimeters of water at most, and the oxygen content is not high, resulting in a small yield of fish fry, while the water storage depth of giant rice can reach about 1 meter, which is especially conducive to fish farming." In the paddy field, not only fish can be raised, but also frogs, shrimps, crabs, ducks and other aquatic economic animals can be raised, and an ecosystem of "rice-fishery symbiosis" has been established, which is a green planting and breeding model of "one water and two uses, and a win-win situation for rice and fishery".
